Introduction

South Africa has the highest number of people living with HIV in the world – over 7 million people. To turn the tide on HIV and AIDS, we need to bring all sectors of society together and strengthen the community systems that support people.
NACOSA is a networking organisation that brings communities together to tackle HIV and its impact on vulnerable people. We have a 19-year track record of working with donors, government and communities to strengthen community systems and turn the tide on HIV, AIDS and TB.
We do this through mobilizing our network of over 1,900 organisations, promoting dialogue between government and affected people, building capacity with accredited training, mentoring and technical assistance and channeling resources to support service delivery on the ground, particularly for children and youth, key populations and women and girls.

Specification
NACOSA is looking for a suitably qualified candidate within South Africa to coordinate the implementation of the IMpower group-based intervention to both Adolescent Girls and Young Women (AGYW) and Adolescent Boys and Young Men (ABYM) aged 15-24 years. As a layered service within the AGYW programme, IMpower is an empowerment self-defense training programme using the No Means No Worldwide model. The Programme Coordinator position will support and deliver on NACOSA’s Global Fund AGYW programme, implemented in four sub-districts, and reporting to a Programme Specialist.

This post is a contract position.

The duties and responsibilities of the Programme Coordinator will include but not limited to:
•Support the Specialist to develop IMpower implementation plans per sub-districts
•Networking in order the maintain regular communication with key stakeholders
•Monitor Standard Operating Procedures (SOPs) and referral pathways for successful linkages of AGYW and ABYM to health, education and social support services as needed
•Prepare monthly, quarterly and annual target monitoring and narrative progress reports.
•Document challenges, best practices and success stories in the implementation of IMpower activities.
•Facilitate IMpower related workshops as required.

Requirements
Required qualifications, skills and experience
•Certificate or Diploma in Office Administration / Business Administration
•Experience in programme planning, implementation, management and M&E
•Knowledge about: HIV prevention, sexual and reproductive health; HIV Testing Services; GBV programming; evidence-informed and rights-based programming for survivors of GBV, particularly for adolescent girls and young women.
•Excellent communications skills in English, including the ability to guide implementers on the programme.
•Excellent computer skills (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) with experience of web-based data systems
•Ability to work well in a team environment, and to coordinate multiple inputs to tight deadlines, with a variety of internal and external stakeholders.
•Understanding of the NGO sector and knowledge of big donor processes/requirements will be a benefit.
•Driver’s license.
